SoFi Reports $161.6 Million in Crypto Revenue and $1.6 Million After Related Costs

    Published October 29, 2026

SoFi's Oct. 27 report lists $161.6 million in crypto revenue and $1.6 million after related costs. Here is what each number means and what it leaves out.

SoFi Reports $161.6 Million in Crypto Revenue and $1.6 Million After Related Costs

On Oct. 27, 2026, SoFi Technologies reported its third-quarter results. Four crypto numbers in that report are easy to mix up. This article explains what each one says and what it leaves out.

SoFi is a U.S. financial app company. In its release, it says it returned to crypto investing in the fourth quarter of 2025 with the launch of SoFi Crypto. So these are new figures, not the start of a new crypto service.

    The four numbers

All four come from SoFi's own earnings release. SoFi labels its financial tables "unaudited," which means the numbers have not been through a full outside audit. The quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026.

    • Crypto products: 503,070. This is SoFi's count as of Sept. 30. It appears in the company's table of Financial Services products.
    • Crypto transaction revenue: $161.606 million. This is the amount SoFi reports as revenue from crypto transactions in the quarter.
    • Cost of crypto transaction revenue: $159.973 million. This is the cost SoFi subtracts from that revenue. The table shows it as one line and does not list what is in it.
    • Net crypto transaction revenue: $1.633 million. This is the revenue minus the cost: $161.606 million minus $159.973 million.

    What "net" means here

SoFi says net crypto transaction revenue "primarily consists of transaction fees earned from facilitating member buy and sell orders on our platform." In plain terms, it is mostly what SoFi earns when members buy and sell crypto in its app, after the related cost.

By our math, $1.633 million is about 1% of $161.606 million. That compares two lines in SoFi's table. It is not a fee rate charged to customers, and it does not show what any customer gained or lost.

    Net revenue is not profit

"Net crypto transaction revenue" is revenue minus one related cost. SoFi does not present it as crypto profit after all operating costs and taxes. The company's income table lists many other costs for the whole business, such as technology, marketing, daily operations, and income taxes.

The company-wide number is separate. SoFi reported total net revenue of $1.385099 billion for the quarter. Only the $1.633 million net crypto figure sits inside that total. The $161.606 million and the $159.973 million are not added on top. By our math, the net crypto figure is about 0.1% of total net revenue.

    What 503,070 crypto products means

SoFi calls this number "Crypto products." The company's definitions say its Financial Services products include SoFi Crypto accounts opened on its platform through the reporting date. The table does not say how many of those accounts hold crypto, traded during the quarter, or were opened in the quarter.

So 503,070 is not a count of active traders or new customers. SoFi shows no crypto count for Sept. 30, 2025, which is before the fourth-quarter 2025 launch.

What these figures do not show

The figures cover one quarter at one company. They do not show how customers' crypto performed, and they do not say what will happen in later quarters. This article draws no link between crypto and SoFi's overall results or stock price.

    Where the numbers come from

These are company-reported figures, and CryptoWorkPro has not verified them independently. The revenue, cost, net, and total net revenue lines come from SoFi's Table 1, the statement of operations. The footnote on net crypto transaction revenue is in Table 7, which covers fee-based revenue. The product count and its definition come from the Financial Services products table and the company's metric definitions.

Disclosure: This article explains figures that SoFi reported in its own unaudited tables on Oct. 27, 2026. It does not cover SoFi's stock or recommend any product.
